Our Materials
Designed to Last
The decision to add wallpaper to a space can feel like a big commitment, and because of this, you want a finished product that will continue to look as good over time as the day it was installed. We took this into consideration in selecting the materials used for Cleo wallpaper. All of our products are resistant to fading and staining. Once applied, their surfaces can be washed with mild soap and water, so you don’t have to worry about the buildup of scuffs and marks over time like with traditional wallpaper.
Easy Application & Removal
In addition to a long lasting look, Cleo wallpapers are easier to install than most as their backing is formulated for ‘paste the wall’ application. This means that adhesive can be applied directly to the wall, and the dry wallpaper simply needs to be positioned against it. By contrast, traditional wallpapers require adhesive to be pasted on their backs and left for a period of time to allow the fibres to soak up moisture and expand before being applied to the wall wet. Because the fibres in Cleo wallpapers do not expand with moisture, there is no need for this soaking period, making the whole installation process faster and smoother. This feature also ensures that our wallpapers will never expand or contract on the wall after being applied. If you prefer to install by the old fashioned ‘paste the wallpaper’ technique, this can still be done with Cleo wallpapers, the only difference is there being no need to wait for it to soak.
Another key feature of our wallpapers is that they are resistant to tearing both when dry and wet. This it helpful during the installation process, as well as for achieving an easy removal when the time comes. When applied correctly, Cleo wallpapers will come off the wall smoothly and should cause no damage to the wall underneath. To remove, simply apply a warm cloth to an area for a few moment and then gently peel and repeat. We recommend using a strippable wallpaper paste for best results with removal.
Eco Friendly Option
Cleo offers wallpapers in two different materials, traditional paper-backed vinyl and ‘non woven’. Vinyl wallpaper is the most durable option. It is the easiest to wash and highly water resistant, making it a great option for high traffic and potentially messier areas like kitchens.
Our non woven wallpapers come with a range of benefits. They are considered the most user-friendly type of wallpaper due to their light-weight and no-tear properties, and are also the most environmentally friendly option for wall-coverings. Non woven wallpaper is a unique blend of synthetic and natural fibres and is formulated without the use of pvc, making the manufacturing process and disposal better for the environment. Additionally, the natural quality of these fibres allow your walls ‘breath’, eliminating the potential sealing in of moisture that can contribute to mold and mildew in damp environments. Like vinyl, non woven wallpapers are also washable making them an ideal choice for most spaces.
